Safe 'N Sound

About

Safe ’n Sound Homelessness Initiative is a not for profit, charitable community based organization created in 2007 by a group of local citizens concerned about the lack of emergency shelter in Grey and Bruce . They operate “The Space” (310 8th Street East, Owen Sound) – a community within a community where the at risk of homelessness and the homeless can access basic needs as well support, advocacy and referral.

Safe ’n Sound operates an after-hours emergency housing program which provides emergency shelter in motels with transportation and breakfast, seven days a week.

They also operate an emergency housing and support line where members of the community can receive support, help with tenancy issues, and referrals to other agencies.

Your impact

They would love to buy and own the building instead of paying an inflated lease every month, and the landlord is working out a deal to try and make this happen for them so fundraising for a down payment would be helpful.

Funding for Outreach Program Van

Your support will assist in the purchase of a new minivan to support Cornerstone’s Outreach Program for people experiencing homelessness. Currently Cornerstone has 2 vans that are difficult to get bookings for staff who need it to deliver programming and services.
